Erik Satie was a French composer and whilst he was considered to be something of an eccentric composed some very appealing and atmospheric miniatures. His Gymnopedie No. 1 is an attractive melodic piece which was composed and published in 1888. The accompanying guitar needs the lowest string to be tuned to the note D.
