The siciliano is a slow tempo movement in 6/8 and 12/8 time particularly popular in the baroque period featuring dotted rhythms to give it a lilting feel - that said it shouldn't be played too slowly. In this piano solo arrangement the challenge is to satisfactorily communicate the melody within the context of the three part texture.
